There are number of buses avaialble from ISBT delhi to Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. After reaching Dharamshala either you can take a roadways bus to Mcleodganj which is 10 kms away from ISBT bus stand Dharamshala. Shared Taxis are also available from Kotwali Bazar to Mcleodganj.

HRTC AC Volvo buses are available from ISBT Kashmere Gate Delhi. Private operators also offers bus service from Delhi to Dharamshala. The private AC volvo deluxe and non AC buses are available from Majnu Ka Tila near Kashmere gate ISBT.

The best way however to reach Mcleodganj from Dharamshala is to take Khada Danda Marg and you can go trekking in this route. Mcleodganj is just 3 kms from Kotwali Bazaar via Khada Danda Marg. The single road is well maintained and the panoramic view of the entire Kangra Valley from this route is amazing.

Being in Dharamshala for a week was wonderful after a span of three months. The heart was longing to stay more in this beautiful city of mine. However the compulsions of life and work didn't allow me to do so. From dharamshala we were now heading towards another destination. The Land of great Golden Temple - Amritsar. I had seen this temple only in pictures and read about it in the books. This was to be live encounter with the place and we all were very much excited. As soon as we reached Amritsar after a drive of 5 hours, we were feeling the heat which was not there in Dharamshala. The city people, Hotels and Guest Houses were complaining of the frequent power cuts and were not happy with the administration. All these problems apart we were more than eager to go and see the Holy Darbar Sahab.

We entered the Temple at the dusk and we were so mesmerised with the beauty that we could not take off our eyes from the site. The Temple was glowing and the sweet sounds of Kirtan were further enhancing the peace of mind and soul. We forgot all the agonies which we faced during our travel in the roads full of patholes. The only thing we wanted to concentrate was the site of the temple, kirtan and Ardaas. I had never felt so religious in my life before. Taking Holy bath and Darshan of the Darbaar as if had fulfilled all of us with everything. At one point of time I felt like staying there as a Sevadaar.

After the Darshan we went to Langar to have Prashad. Again it was such an amazing experience. The Langer is run 24 hours for all no matter whci cast or religion. To our surprise the management was so efficient that you could not find anything messy here. Everything is so well planned and neat and clean with people working 24*7 serving all.

This is an Institution which can inspire all others how to manage the things in such an efficient manner. We should take lessons from the Darbaar Dahab and incorporate the things into our professional and personal lives.

People are very affectionate and they will give you all the minute details and will guide you to the factory. The workers are also trained to welcome the guests at the Factory.

Mcleodganj by Air Nearest airport: Gaggal (20 km 45 minutes), connected to Delhi on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays by Jagson Airlines. Hire a cab to town for Rs 350.

Mcleodganj by Rail Nearest railhead: Chakki Bank (80 km/ 2-3 hrs), connected to Delhi by the Jammu Express and to Kolkata by the Jammu Tawi Express. Hire a cab (Rs 600 approx) to McLeodganj.
