Dharamshala is a beautiful Hill Station in Himachal Pradesh located on the backdrop of snow capped rock solid Dhauladhar ranges of Himalayas.

Tea Gardens and Tea Facory Dharamshala

To have a glimpse of the tea gardens you need to come to Chilgari. From here there are two roads, one lead to Mata Kunal Pathari Temple and another to Narghota Village. Dharamshala Circuit house is also located in Chilgari which is open for the tourists. They can come and stay in Circuit House with nominal tariff and neat and clean ambience.

Both the roads have tea gardens on each side with lush green pine trees. There is negligible traffic in these roads and is a heaven for nature lovers. If you wish to see how Kangra Tea is being manufactured the Tea Factory near Narghota will give you a warm welcome. People are very affectionate and they will give you all the minute details and will guide you to the factory. The workers are also trained to welcome the guests at the Factory.

Narghota Village near Dharamshala
Take a walk from Kainchi Mode towards Narghota Village. The road has lush green tea gardens on both the sides. You will feel as if you are walking in a huge farm house inside the jungle. The landscapes offers lot of excitement and thrill with the enchanting scenic beauty.

Mata Kunal Pathari Temple near Dharamshala
The famous temple is located on the outskirtd of Dharamshala amidsts pine forests on one side and tea gardens on the other.

Indru Nag Temple in Dharamshala
Located on the hill top Indru Nag temple offers full view of the Kangra Valley and Dharamshala town. Mcleodganj

Situated in Kotwali Bazaar of Dharamsala, Kangra Art Gallery was inaugurated in 1990. It houses an impressive collection of arts, crafts, artifacts, costumes and other treasures, which can be traced to as far back as 5th century.

Library of Tibetan Works and Archives -Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA) is situated at McLeodganj town of Dharamsala. It was founded by the 14th Dalai Lama and serves as an institution to preserve and promote Tibetan culture.

Namgyal MonasterySonam Gyatso, the third Dalai Lama, founded Namgyal Monastery in the year 1575. During that time, it was situated at the Potala Palace in Tibet. Its purpose was to assist the Dalai Lama in his spiritual duties and public religious activities.

Norbulingka
InstituteSituated at a distance of 4 km from Dharamsala, Norbulinka Institute has a mission to preserve and promote. It is a picture of old rural Tibet with all its shady paths, wooden bridges, small streams and tiny water falls, along with wooden carvings, Tibetan Thangka paintings, Tibetan handicrafts and arts.

Kangra Fort
Kangra Fort was once the stronghold and seat of power of Katoch rulers, who ruled the land for over 2000 years. Today, it stands in ruins because of the devastating earthquake that hit the area in 1905.

Nurpur Fort
Located 66 km from Dharamsala and 24 km from Pathankot, Nurpur Fort was constructed by Raja Basu more than one thousand years ago. Initially, it was known as Dhameri.

About Dalhousie

On the way falls Satdara which is famous for seven natural springs which contains minerals and mica in the water. It has a medicianal value.

Jandrighat Palace

Yet another beautiful spot in Dalhousie is this palace. Jandrighat Palace was owned by King of Chamba.

Kalatop National Forest Sanctuary

It is situated in the Dalhousie Chamba route. On July 1, 1949 Kalatop National Forest Sanctuary was recognised as Game Sanctuary.

The main tourist attractions that falls under the Kalatop National Forest Sanctuary are Khajiiar, Dain Khudd, Kalatop, Lakarmandi, Bada Pathar etc.


How to reach Dalhousie


By Train:

Nearest Broad guage Railway station is Pathankot and Chakki bank. Any train heading towards Jammu can be boarded. Get down at Pathankot or Chakki Bank. Dalhousie is around 70 kms from Pathankot and frequent bus service is available on this route. Taxis are also available.

Dalhousie By Bus:

Frequent buses ply between Delhi and Dalhousie. dalhousie is also very well connected to all the major cities of Himachal, Punjab and Jammu.

By Air:

Dharamshala is the nearest airport
