There are number of buses avaialble from ISBT delhi to Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. After reaching Dharamshala either you can take a roadways bus to Mcleodganj which is 10 kms away from ISBT bus stand Dharamshala. Shared Taxis are also available from Kotwali Bazar to Mcleodganj.

HRTC AC Volvo buses are available from ISBT Kashmere Gate Delhi. Private operators also offers bus service from Delhi to Dharamshala. The private AC volvo deluxe and non AC buses are available from Majnu Ka Tila near Kashmere gate ISBT.

Distance between Dharamshala to Mcleodganj is about 10 Kms via Dharamshala Cantt. It takes arond 20 minutes to reach Macleodganj from Dharamshala.

However there is an alternative route from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj for light vehicles. It is called Khara Danda Marg. You can take this route from Kotwali bazaar Dharamshala. You need to be a perfect driver in this route which is steep and around 3 Kms. Tourists are advised not to drive through this route. Macleodganj is well connected by road and air to all the parts of the country.

By Road: Number of buses ply from all the major towns of Himachal, Punjab, Jammu, Haryana and Delhi to Dharamshala and Macleodganj.

From Delhi itself there are around 10 buses plying daily to Dharamshala and Macleodganj. Around 20 buses run between Chandigarh and Dharamshala daily.
