Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (now Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya) was established on 1st November, 1978.The College of Agriculture (established in May, 1966) formed the nucleus of new farm University. It is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution.

Macleodganj is well connected by road and air to all the parts of the country.

By Road: Number of buses ply from all the major towns of Himachal, Punjab, Jammu, Haryana and Delhi to Dharamshala and Macleodganj.

From Delhi itself there are around 10 buses plying daily to Dharamshala and Macleodganj. Around 20 buses run between Chandigarh and Dharamshala daily. The roads are also very good and a drive to Macleodganj is also a delightful experience.
