On the backdrop of snow capped Himalayan Dhauladhar range the small hill town is situated on five hills. Dalhousie is situated at a hieght ranging from 2000 meters to 3000 meters above sea level. The city boasts of unique pre independence Bumglows and Churches built by the Britishers. The Churches and Bunglows are built and based on Scottish and Victorian Architecture Style.

Punjpula - Satdara
Punjpula is a picnic spot around 2.5 Kms from Mall road. Punjpula has a Samadhi of Shahid Ajit Singh(Uncle of Shahid Bhagat Singh)who died immediately after India achieved independence on 15th August 1947. On the way falls Satdara which is famous for seven natural springs which contains minerals and mica in the water. It has a medicianal value.

Jandrighat Palace
Yet another beautiful spot in Dalhousie is this palace. Jandrighat Palace was owned by King of Chamba.

Kalatop National Forest Sanctuary
It is situated in the Dalhousie Chamba route. On July 1, 1949 Kalatop National Forest Sanctuary was recognised as Game Sanctuary.

The main tourist attractions that falls under the Kalatop National Forest Sanctuary are Khajiiar, Dain Khudd, Kalatop, Lakarmandi, Bada Pathar etc.


How to reach Dalhousie khajiar Chamba
By Train:

Nearest Broad guage Railway station is Pathankot and Chakki bank. Any train heading towards Jammu can be boarded. Get down at Pathankot or Chakki Bank. Dalhousie is around 70 kms from Pathankot and frequent bus service is available on this route. Taxis are also available.

By Bus:

Frequent buses ply between Delhi and Dalhousie. Dalhousie is also very well connected to all the major cities of Himachal, Punjab and Jammu.

By Air:

Dharamshala is the nearest airport

Dalhousie is around 150 Km fro Dharamshala and number of buses ply between these cities
